Networking and Informational Interviewing

Do a reality check by learning what  careers and majors are really like by doing informational interviews, which are talking with people who have graduated with that major and who are in that career that interests you.  Start with people you know, or whom your family, friends, instructors refer you to. You can talk with people over email, phone, zoom, or in person.   Sample questions can include things like:

1. Tell me a bit about your career and educational path that led you to the roll you are in today. 2. What does a typical day look like for you?  What do you enjoy and dislike about your job?  What do you wish you had known at the beginning of your career and college journey?  Do you have any recommendations of others in the field I can talk with? Would it be possible for me to take a tour of your work place and intern? Write a thank you!
